Phonics and Reading comprehension

The main focus of the lesson is to help students how to pronounce and read the nouns.  This Powerpoint breaks down the words and students can listen to the intonation of how the words are pronounced. The reading comprehension is aimed at lower level learners and it is a communicative approach.  The student has to write down and practice what the teacher is saying by repeating after the teacher.

I created a PowerPoint presentation to help students practice the long vowel "A" sound. The slides include words with different spelling patterns such as “a_e” (cake), “ai” (train), “ay” (play), and “ea” (steak). Each word is displayed clearly to support reading and pronunciation. The presentation is simple and easy to follow, making it useful for group lessons, reading centers, or independent practice. It’s especially helpful for early readers and English language learners to build phonics skills and recognize vowel patterns. The goal is to improve fluency and confidence in reading long "A" words.

A good phonics activity to help practice 'ug' with beginning sounds. Spin the spinner and combine the beginning sounds with 'ug'! Fill in the gaps for the story after learning new words. :)
