A selection of English ESL pop ppt slides

A great quiz which takes about 40 minutes. There are a variety of questions related to the UK such a famous people (Ed Sheeran), the name of the queen and the size of the population. It works great as an end of year activity to get the students engaged and hopefully more interested in our culture so they study harder! You can change the difficulty by removing the A/B/C/D options or editing the questions.

ESL Warm Ups: Vietnamese Pop Stars

BTS are a very big K-pop (Korean Pop) group who are world famous. Dynamite is their first English song. Can you work out the missing lyrics ? There is a link to youtube on slide 1 so you can play the song.

Play the powerpoint in presentation mode and maybe stop after every slide or even half way through each slide as its a pretty fast song.

(Note the slide preview does not display the blue boxes correctly but it displays correctly in the slideset)

Age of the stars indicated: noted in 2015. Most of these "pop-stars" I personally find lamentable. But the kids you teach find them exciting. Fine! This is a collection of star pictures found on the web with their ages three years ago. Of course, you can use those to teach your kids hpw to say your age now and what it was before.

Even pop stars get older. This is how old they were back in 2015. You can get your students to say: he was 41 three years ago - now he is... They should appreciate this activity.

Students look at a party room and try to memorise the picture. Then a sentence pops up and students try to remember where the children where and click on the question mark to check. In the end the teacher can check if students remember what each child was doing.
