English punctuation , marks and rules, some funny quotes, can be used as the warm up of a review class, or as an introduction exercise to present the topic, good to practice and review

A fun way to test children on their use of punctuation. Focus is on speech marks, exclamation & question marks, capital letters and full stops.



This quiz is setup for 4 teams to work together, adding their punctuation. I had cards for them to stick on the board, but you could have students call out. 



Sentences are drawn from the Biff & Kipper books, and can be easily amended if you think they are too easy or hard.

In this presentation, students discuss what is weird and what could be different in some funny signs if punctuation was changed. All the signs are nonsense or with a doubtful message to arise students' creativity.

This lesson comes with a powerpoint a Worksheet and a card memory game.



Powerpoint to introduce the students to the different rent punctuations. The student are requested to writedown the punctuation and its uses. The students are given time to familiarise themselves with the punctuation and its uses.

Students then complete the worksheet.



Card game 



Students are divided into partners and cards are placed face down in rows of 3 and flipped around to find the identical card Once identified and uses are named the card is yours. The player with the most cards wins.
