This PowerPoint game is easy to customise, Ss must select questions 1-20 and answer as best they can. You can split them into teams and keep score if you want to make the game more competitive. I would recommend changing the information to suit your students

20 Questions Introduction

A powerpoint presentation to practise using a number of reporting verbs and reported speech structures.



Students should look at the speech bubbles given and change the celebs' lines into reported speech using necessary reporting verbs.

Past Simple "How did people live in 1900?"

This is a PowerPoint for students to use to get to know each other. It involves a speed dating style game in which students sit with each other, ask the questions and then when the teachers rings a bell, for example, the students sit with someone else.

The last activity is an extension and is a writing activity.

Getting to know you 

This is a memory game to reinforce past tense 'did' questions [simple past tense questions]. Scenes featuring people appear on the screen. Leave the pictures on the screen for about five seconds, then change to the question slide. The question slide contains questions like "Did Tom swim yesterday?" Students answer "Yes, he did/ No, he didn't." They can answer as a group or individually. This is a super fun memory game!

'Did' Past Tense Questions Game [Simple Past]

The presentation shows some types of questions in English. After a brief demonstration of the types, students have to complete some tasks. 



First, they just should name the question type of each sentence. 



Then they have to fill in the gaps using an appropriate question form.



 After that, they should make questions for the underlined words in sentences. 



The last task is for the production stage. Students choose two categories and make 4 types of questions for each of the chosen categories. When they're ready, they should ask the questions to their partner.
