Students can learn about some basic survival skills. There are 5 skills covered in this lesson. These include the following:

This is just a fun lesson I have made for my year 11 and 12 students at the end of term. However, it could also be used as an ice-breaker at the beginning of a term. There is a corresponding worksheet  that I have uploaded to my worksheet section of my portfolio. 

Desert Island Survival

Students talk about where they would like to go on holiday after covid 19 has gone. They board the plane and it crashes in to the sea. Discuss what items they might take of the plane before it sinks. Then discuss how to survive at sea, land and all the dangers.

Surviving Game: Escape From The Lion [Animals]

Multiple-choice game for survival with solution and explanation at the end. Good vocabulary for B2 level. Eleven situations beginning with a snowstorm at the empty cottage with eleven questions each with four possibilities. Graded in the end by how safe the students responses were and the outcomes of different levels of responses.
