A selection of English ESL weather ppt slides

PPTx in order to learn vocabulary related to the weather: adjectives (it's sunny, it's windy, ...), nouns (sun, wind, fog, ...) and verbs (the sun's shining, it's raining...). Some extra vocabulary has been added (rainbow, the weather forecast,...) and one nice idiom included! 22 slides. It's really visual and there are some revision slides as well. I hope you find it useful. I included some sounds in three slides (rain, wind, thunder) but I'm afraid I can't upload them.

Weather Vocabulary

The PowerPoint presentation shows your students some English weather idioms. The pictures illustrate the meaning of each phrase. The students also have a chance to practise the idioms filling the gaps with them. At the end of the ppt, they have to use the expressions while answering some questions about the weather.

Weather Idioms

This is a lesson about weather and temperature. It's a vocabulary lesson followed by a conversation section where students can pair up and take turns in asking one another "How's the weather today?"

This ppt contains flashcards with pictures and the name of the weather phenomena. This will help to acquire vocabulary by associating images with words. This does not contain any activities. 

The Weather

You can use this slideshow to present new vocabulary of weather to beginners.  It gives words to describe the temperature and weather.  It allows for eliciting the vocabulary with the picture coming before the word.  The pictures are photographs to allow for use with all ages.  A follow-up activity is to search the weather forecasts in various cities and describe it.

I created this document as a support to a final task ' THE WEATHER PRESENTER' with my 6eme classes( year 7).  You can use it with A1 students (today, it is sunny ...) or A2 ( it's going to be / it will be ...). The last slide allows you to create new ones or ask students to create their own weather map!

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
