This is a quick activity to review vocabulary seen in the chapter about "Healthy weight". I use it for my bachelor students at Nutrition School and ask them to make up sentences using these words.

This is a basic pronunciation exercise in which students are made familiar with words that have "gh" in them and how to pronounce these words. This is a good opportunity to get everyone to try to pronounce a word in class.

Practice with words having the internal "gh" - height, weight, fight etc.

This is an interactive game. Students look at pictures and click the correct baloon to complete a sentence. The correct one will fly to the sun, the wrong one will hide behind a cloud. Students can through pictures practise words we use to describe people physically (age, height, weight, colours, hair....). Before actually clicking the words, teachers can ask students to complete the sentences orally. Then they can check it.

This is a quiz designed to familiarise students with general information about the IELTS test (both for the General Test as well as the Academic Test) - they will be asked, for example, how many questions they have to answer in the Listening Test. Describing Physical Appearance - Part II

Students compare the values for the animals' size, weight, and speed.

To start the game, shuffle and deal all the cards face down. Each player holds their cards so that they can see the top card only.



The player to the dealer’s left starts by reading out a category from the top card (e.g. Height, value 5) The other players then read out the same category from their cards. The one with the best or highest value wins, and that player collects all the top cards, including their own, and moves them to the bottom of their pile. It is then their turn again to choose a category from the next card.



If two or more cards share the top value or data is not available for that particular subject then all the cards are placed in the middle and the same player chooses again from the next card. The winner of the hand takes the cards in the middle as well.



The person with all the cards at the end is the winner.
