listening for detail. sts watch the video and listen for details which they are then asked about in a variety of questions including multiple choice tasks, scrambled sentences and open ended questions, aimed at checking students general understanding of explanation. can be used as the first task of a lesson, after which students may do a follow up reading comprehension task, or a writing task, depending on the students, their level and the skills they need to focus on. The video talks about sunken cities, ships and artifacts, and discusses their value to us scientifically and historically. It gives examples, and makes the topic interesting both for young children, and for slightly older children. Students who are in their early teens, but of a lower level of English, need something that is not childish, but still their level. Such students may find this interesting. Video can be used as an introduction to a longer. lesson, or as a task on its own, depending on the type of students and lesson
