This exercise is perfect for oral revision of Past Perfect VS Past Simple tenses. Students should have a look at famous celebrities and say what kind of job they had had before they became well-known. Encourage your students to use all the words from the right column. You may add some more extra verbs.

Around the House

Students complete the sentences using their own ideas. They practise the use of Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect Simple and Past Perfect Continuous. They can work in pairs or small groups. Then they compare their sentences and decide which ones are the most interesting or original.

you can dived the class in 4 groups and give them a set of 4 cards each and they can study for example for five minutes and you select one of the students to come and show the flash card that way everyone will be paying atention because they won´t know who are you going to select. 
You can do this activity for four times so all of the groups will have the opportunity to study the flascards.
