Listening practice: (-ed) ending sounds for simple past regular verbs

Grammar-based themed worksheet aimed at practising -ing/-ed adjectives, speaking, listening, asking for clarification, asking to repeat, note-taking, short presentations or talking in front of the class and writing a paragraph. Fully editable, printer-friendly colours (background colour does not print) and plain vanilla version (without any colour or clip art) included on 2nd page. Answer key provided. NOTE: If you want students to practise more listening you could cut the ws into two halves (or use 2 wss) and let Ss interview each other without them having seen the questions beforehand (pair work). Also, you could use more of these worksheets and do a group work exercise.

Grammar Meets Conversation: -ING vs -ED Adjectives (5) - Asking about Experiences and Opinions

This worksheet can be used by elementary teacher, with children at A.1 level of the language. For me, it worked as a review of the following grammar/vocabulary subjects:



(1) Verb "to be";

(2) Demonstratives;

(3) Possessive adjectives;

(4) Have/has got;

(5) Colors;

(6) Clothes and personal objects;

(7) Asking and saying the age;

(8) Asking where someone is from.



There's a translation activity at the end of the worksheet, that I suggest the teacher to ask as homework. Maybe, depending on the level of each student, they might need some help in reading, pronouncing some words and answering to the questions. Help your students out while they work with it!



Remember: it is always good to avoid using any worksheet before teaching all the subjects that are contemplated by it. It can demotivate your kids.

Reading comprehension for kids 

This activity is composed with a text about JK Rowling (short biography),  there are questions about the text (right or wrong + justification by quoting the text), grammar exercises (regular & irregular verbs of the text, sorting out the regular verbs according to the prononciation of "ed" ending, 2 exercises about the simple past (affrimative and negative forms) and a translation of a short part of the text in your mother language.

The use of a dictionnary is accepted in my case but you might chose not to use it. Everything isn't centered on JKRowling but I hope these activities will be useful !

Adjectives ending in -ed and -ing

Adjectives can be formed from nous and verbs by adding these suffixes: -al, -ous, -ly, -able, -y,      -ed, -ing, -ful, -less, -ive, -ic. Use the word given in capitals at the end of the sentences to form a suitable adjective.

It is a gap-fill activity. The video shows lots of pictures which show the Queen's daily routine. The pictures have sentences describing them with a word missing. There are three words to choose from written below the sentences. Learners must choose the correct form of the verb, using the Simple Present tense and with or without the third person singular "s" ending. 



It can be done as a speaking activity or as a writing task using this worksheet. The answer key is provided.
