Ludo is a great way to revise vocabulary or grammar with your students. However, each student has a different level and needs. This Ludo template may be helpful to create your own game for different levels:)

Ludo Template

This game can be used to practise present tenses: Present Simple, Present Continuous and Present Perfect. The rules are similar to a regular game of Ludo - the only difference is that when you counter lands on a new square, you must make a proper sentence using one of the present tenses e.g. I always watch TV, I don't watch TV, Are you watching TV now? etc. The squares have been color-coded to help students choose the proper tense.

This game can be used to practise basic verbs. The rules are similar to a regular game of Ludo - the only difference is that when you counter lands on a new square, you must say the proper verb, or make a sentence e.g. She is watching TV

Ludo - wh question

This game can be used to practise a constraction "used to" in affrmative, negative and interrogative sentences. The rules are similar to a regular game of Ludo - the only difference is that when you piece lands on a new square, you must make a sentence using "used to".

This game can be used to practise irregular verbs. The rules are similar to a regular game of Ludo - the only difference is that when you counter lands on a new square, you must give past forms of a given verb.

Ludo Game - Irregular Verbs Review

Based on the worksheet by "dobrawaa" this board game should be used by 4 players to have an optimal experience.

To play this game you need to 2 dices and 4 small objects of the same colour for each player.

The objective of the game is to take the 4 pieces from your circle to the line of your colour in the middle, to do this you must place one of the objects on the starting arrow, roll the dices and advance the number of spaces obtained on the roll, each time a player lands on a space he/she has to say a sentence with the words written in that space, if the player fails s/he has to go back to his/her previous space, when you've moved through the entire board you get to access your own line, you win by getting your 4 objects to the line.

If you get the same number on both dices you can roll them again or move one of your objects outside the game into the board.

If another player lands into the same space occupied by an earlier player, the second player has to give a sentence with the words on the space, if the second player is correct the first player has to move his object from the board to his/her starting circle.

The small circle in the middle of the board is a shortcut, players can land on it by getting the exact number, if they are on the starting arrow they would need to roll a 5 to access the shortcut, to get out of the shortcut you need to roll snake eyes (1 & 1) or (6 & 6),  so the risk-benefit is quite high; if another player lands on the shortcut the first player is removed from the board and needs to roll the same numbers on the dices to get a new object on the board.



To make it easier to print in black and white printers each color has a different texture so that teachers can easily and unexpensively photocopy it.

Advanced future board game (Ludo)

This game can be used to practise passive voice of Present Simple and Past Simple tenses. The rules are similar to a regular game of Ludo - the only difference is that when you counter lands on a new square, you must make proper passive voice sentence.

It is a classical board game. The rules are the same as in LudoGame - students have to not only move their tokens to the player's home but also answer the questions. Simple? Might be :) But try not to repeat yourself :)

Play with dice and figures, similarly to the "Ludo" game. Students need to complete the sentence to gain the field. The student who gets to to the FINISH is the winner.

Second conditional GAME - Complete IF PART

This game works with the simple rules of Ludo. When standing on a field, the plural must be named. 

The grey fields are freio (as long as you are standing there, you can't be send back to the start).

I used origami boats as playing pieces 

Although usually this game is played by four people, I changed it to two. This way it doesn't take too long.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
