My Neighborhood

Students make questions about places in the map with "Is there/ Are there...?". Fix the sentences if they are wrong. 



Note: Students use general knowledge for some sentences labelled as "facts".

Our neighborhood

This is a mapping activity that reviews neighborhood buildings, cardinal directs and prepositions of place. Students read the numbered directions for each building, find it on the map and write the correct number on each building. The blank lines next to the numbered items on the directions page are for students to check off each item as they complete it. 

the students will have to answer about their own neighborhood using the key phrases listed above the questions. Then there will have to answer the questions regarding using, is and isn't.

This is a while-reading activity which focuses on the vocabulary related to jobs and family members.There is a gap-filling and a matching exercise. It is based on the text Quinino's Neighborhood.

Walk & Talk: Neighborhood

This worksheet can be done with all kind of students, level A1. The students look at the map and answer the questions giving the reason why they can or can't do  things in this neighborhood.
Ex: Can you take a train in this neighborhood? - No, I can't because there is no train station.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
