Modals of regret

This lesson focuses on helping students distinguish between the Present Simple and Present Continuous tenses. It is suitable for intermediate-level students who are developing their ability to use tenses correctly in various contexts. Through engaging activities, students will learn how to use the Present Simple to describe habits, routines, and general truths, as well as the Present Continuous for actions happening now, temporary situations, and future arrangements.

Past simple, negative did. 

It is an activity to work with deductions in the past (MUST HAVE, MIGHT HAVE, COULD HAVE and CAN'T HAVE). It is about facts about the past. Students must read some  statements and express their opinion about whether they are true or false. Then the teacher will show them the answers through pictures and videos.

Can you imagine?

A fun activity to practice "used to" for past habits and states. Students have to write down 50 statements (10 for each section) about how they were/their habits in the past. For every section, 5 statements must be true and 5 must be false! When they have finished, you can put Ss in pairs/groups and get them to guess which are the true statements and which are false. (You can, of course, decide to make them write fewer statements, depending on how big your class is).
