This worksheet is a board game which aims at revising present simple and present continuous. There are two versions ( pictures and words). It can be used with elementary and pre-intermediate students and it can be played in pairs or as a whole class game. I hope you like it!!!

With this board game, learners will practise the present perfect in an enjoyable way. Every square provides a verb and a picture clue. Every time a correct question is asked, the game can be used as a communicative activity whereby players ask each follow-up questions (e.g. When was the last time you read a book? What book did you read? Was it good? What kind of books do you like? How often do you read? etc). Answer key and grammar tip included. LetÂ´s make learning fun!

Board Game - When was the last time...?

This is a fun grammar-focused game with vocabulary as a bonus.



The objective of this board game is to practice Wh- questions (What, When, Where) in the present simple, and also to familiarize students with family vocabulary.



When students land on a space, they use the sentence provided to form a WH- question (What, When, or Where) based on the question in bold.





Wh- Questions Board Game with Family Vocabulary - Present Simple

This is a board game for past simple, present simple, present continuous and future (will+going to). This activity should take around 20 minutes or more to complete. 



Make sure you spend enough time remembering these tenses with your students before the game. Write down some sentences and elicit the structure in each tense (e.g. Pres. Simple - subject + verb (bare infinitive) + object...), elicit students' examples in the same tense. Leave all of this information on the board so that ss can quickly go back to it and build correct sentences.



If you land on a square that is touching a snake's tail, you must answer questions on both ends and go back to the tile touching the head.



Choose a 6-side dice for a quicker game, esp. if you have many participants, and a coin for more answers and longer game.

Board Game - How Often?

This board game is for general use, but can also be combined with up to six sets of free multiple choice questions and challenges covering whatever topics or grammar you would like your students to practice. These can be chosen from a huge range, and accessed by smartphone via a QR code.

Board Game - Chinese Checkers - With QR code Questions

This is a board game to revise simple sentences and animals.  
You need two or three players, a dice, and playing counters.  Pupils roll the dice, move forward and when they land on an image, their classmates ask "What's this?" When they land on a question mark, they can practise asking "What's your favorite animal or Do you like?"

This is PART 2 of a typical snakes and ladders boardgame with vocabulary about daily routine, household chores and free time activities.

Students have to make a sentence with the vocabulary on the square they land on. I'm uploading the board in parts because of the size of the file. But you have to join the 4 boards and laminate altogether to form only one board.

DAILY ROUTINE SNAKES AND LADDERS PART 2

This is an easier version of a board game I previously made. The game requies  at least two players. It could be used as a warm up, at the beginning of the course but also as a review. Dice & counters needed, or a coin (head - 1, tails - 2, or the other way round). Questions are in the simple present. You can adapt the game easily. Enjoy!!!

This 'Have you ever _?' board game is a fun speaking activity for teens and adult ESL (EFL) learners to get them using the Present Perfect tense to talk about experiences, and to practice switching to the simple past when asking for or giving more information. This is a well-tested resource that I use over and over again.

This version has British English.

This is PART 3 and the last one of a typical snakes and ladders boardgame with vocabulary about daily routine, household chores and free time activities.

Students have to make a sentence with the vocabulary on the square they land on. I've uploaded 4 boards in 3 PARTS because of the size of the files. But you should join the into only one big board.

DAILY ROUTINE SNAKES AND LADDERS PART 3

The game of Jeopardy using direct to reported or indirect speech in present and past simple, present perfect, present continuous and will or can. Teacher draws the grid on the board and the students choose a verb tense and 100-500 points, the teacher then says the direct speech sentence and the students have to change it to reported speech. Includes the answers in red. Could also be played online if the teacher copies the grid onto another page and shares the grid with the students.
