This is a fill-in dialogue, very easy to do, with the necessary orientation of the teacher or tutor. As soon as the dialogue is ready, the teacher will help the student: 1) to read it with the right pronunciation; 2) to learn by heart by asking the pupil to repeat after the teacher.

Rehearsals then can proceed and be recorded, may be acted out.

At the end of this activity, there is a great possibility that the student will know the WH-words, by drilling the dialogues and acting out.

Questions with WH-words

2 pages. I know there are plenty of worksheets on the subject, but I had to make this one using words and expressions that my students already know. I didn't even use "why" because they haven't learned that one yet. Anyway, I had a LOT of work making this, so I thought I should share. Maybe it's useful for some of you! Wh- Words and Questions

Activity that promotes the practice of wh- questions in simple present. This is a basic review sheet for beginners. The teacher could review the meaning of the wh question words first.

What Do You do? Wh Questions/Simple Present

A mingling/conversation activity to practise asking Wh- questions (What/Where/Why/Who/Which/When/How). First, students write the correct Wh- question word in the spaces. Then, they walk around the class asking different classmates the questions, with follow-up questions to find out more about what their classmates said. A good wrap-up is to go around the class and have each student share the most interesting thing they learned about their classmates. Enjoy!

Question making for young learners

To make question words a bit more fun in class, I designed this cootie catcher for the kids to fold and play with. Once the select the color, then number, then number again, they can look under the flap and see a question word. they must then ask their partner a question using that question word.

A simple exercise for A1 level kids and adults wherein interrogatives can be practiced.There are 9 pages, 8 of which  which have 8 random answers to 8 different questions - Who, what when where how why, how old and how many. The 9th page had cut-outs with the questions. The students work together to find which sheet goes with which cut-out. I tried this with my third graders and it was quite effective. I imagine its would work good with adults too, and the sheets can be tweaked to your specifications.

This is a boardgame for practising wh-questions. In the middle pupils can find the information and use them to answer the questions. The idea is to use a dice and get point when a question is answered correctly. You can go round as many times as you want.

WH Questions exercises

The Board game is ideal for activities that you do not want to take too long. It is quite a flexible game whose rules can be changed to extend the game or add more language. In this game, you need dice and chips. Players roll the dice and advance according to the number that shows up. They use words in the game to ask questions or do whatever language skill the teacher wants them to practice.
