exercises to help students distinguish the use of CAN-verbs and verbs to express the ability of BE ABLE TO in the future. Exercises suitable for junior high school students, namely grade 6 or grade 7

CAN VS WILL BE ABLE TO 

Students read each sentence and write the meaning of the modal used  then they write their own sentences using the different modal verbs and functions. Note that students could also use the past tense .

Some students struggle to remember these or sometimes even tell the difference, so here is a game where they need to make a question with either "have to" or "be able to" and then answer those questions if possible.

A great tool for revising as well.

This worksheet helps students revise the use of  modal verbs: can't / must / be able to. There are three tasks. Students write  deductions in the present or in the past;  moreover, they complete some sentences using the most suitable tense and form of "to be able to".
