A short reading for PRE-INTERMEDIATE students. This is an Indian folk tale about a monkey who loses all his peas when her tries to catch one that he has dropped.



Students must answer four questions using exactly THREE WORDS from the text. This is preparing students for IELTS short answer questions where the number of words used in the answer is stipulated.



Students also match eight adjectives to their meanings.

This is the first in a series of readings of folktales from around the world.

Reading: The monkey and the peas: Pre-Intermediate

Students match the titles of familiar fables with pictures. Links are given to YouTube videos of each fables and written texts. The worksheet can be used to generate recounts by students, and as preparation for listening, reading and writing activities.
