Afternoon tea in the UK, a great tradition. They read the passage and do the true or false. Then they match up the cakes and their descriptions. A fun task would be for them to design and describe an afternoon tea for themselves and their friends. Key included. I hope it will be useful

Afternoon Routine

A reading comprehension worksheet with questions intended for conversation at an intermediate level. Tasks involve questions to test comprehension and encourage conversation. This is based on a real story that I never previously told anyone about, so it is kind of like a memoir too. 

An afternoon swim

The students match up the images with the words. I then go on to ask them to design the perfect afternoon tea, with their favourite sandwiches, cakes, crisps etc and label the items. Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
