This is a useful ws to practice writing words that sound aloke. Sometimes words with the long 'a' sound the same but their spelling is different. Students have to fill in the blanks using the right homophone.

Song exercise to practice  listening and to have fun. This is an activity with the song Favela Night from Alok and maybe could help to talk about gender, poverty and to talk about Rio de Janeiro Brazil. There are exercises to fill in, put in order and to match.

Favela Night 

This is a listening activity to be developed while the song plays. DJ Alok and Ina Wroldsen recorded this song that talks about the 'favela', typical slums/guettos in Brazil, specially in Rio de Janeiro. Teachers can introduce the theme with one previous activity - FAVELA PRE-LISTENING - and ask to students to listen and fill in the gaps. This song can be discussed as an example of social problems in the world.
