Hi collegues!i´ve been thinking of something like that for a long time to practise old vocabulary and the new ones simultaneously out of the curriculum.i think i ´ve found that at last=) We can use them like a game.After giving that ws to students,i will find the fastest student to find the secret message(we can do it by group-work).Students are supposed to find the word and combine their capitals.i plan to give small presents to the winner(s) to encourage them. (You can also have them say a sentence in past simple or present perfect). The aim is to fill your jar first or to have the most beans in the end.

This is a simple writing activity aimed at Beginner/ Pre Beginner ESOL adult students. There are 5 activities (you can adapt them to your audience). They include a simple comprehension, sentence ordering, a gap fill, writing your own letter and a correction activity. This activity was created for ESOL students taking Entry 1 ESOL and Functional Skills writing exams.

Writing a letter to a friend.

Cut each phrase into a strip.  Beginner students read the descriptive sentence while students try to guess the vocabulary word.  This can be played in teams with a bigger class or as a group.  The game is like Catch Phrase but students are provided with a descriptive phrase, instead of coming up with one on their own.
