This is a reading comprehension activity. Students must read a passage about future changes,  do a true-false exercise and answer some questions. Activity based on the future tense with WILL.

Future tense - reading

There is no warm-up activity. There are formula, examples, and then practice with multiple choices and written answers. 

It focuses on all tenses of passive voice: Present Simple, Past Simple, Present Perfect Simple & Past Perfect Simple, and Future forms such as Will and Be going to.

Passive Voice in various tenses

In this grammar guide, students will be asked to provide an answer according to their previous knowledge about past simple or present perfect. This could be used as a small quiz.

Past Simple vs Present Perfect

The exercise sheet applies to the knowledge of the Present Present. Here are 3 exercises. The first exercise is to choose the correct answers so students can distinguish have and has. The second exercise is to fill in for or since to distinguish between signs, and the last exercise is to rewrite sentences in question form.

Past Perfect Sentence Unscramble

Fun ESL icebreaker speaking activity for the first day of class or to review perfect tenses. Could take up an entire 45 minute class if you spend some time going through the vocabulary.



When doing this ESL activity in class, I first went over the vocabulary. Then, students go around the class and try to find people who have done the activities on the work sheet. If someone has done something, they write their name. Focus on speaking. Make sure the students are actually asking the question and answering in English. At the end of the activity I asked students to raise their hand if they got 5 people, keep your hand raised if you got 10 people, 15 people, and so on. The person or people with the most names, I gave candy.

Past continuous - Reading & Writing

Students have to do a speaking activity in pairs. TT gives the couple a different card to each of them with present perfect questions. Each S asks the questions he has on his card and then answers the other S’s questions. TT asks a couple to do the activity from the front.
