Australia and New Zealand

A text about the most important day in Australia: The Australia Day and how the australian celebrate this day. The text includes a brief explanation of the history of this day and why it's celebrated nowaday. It's perfect to introduce the Australian history and its national customs and symbols to your students.

Reading Activity: Australia Day

The series English speaking countries is meant for beginners and introduces some symbols and clichés from English speaking countries. You could ask your students what they know about the country.  Then you present the worksheet and ask them if they know other things about it. Then students could make a poster like this with the symbols of their own country.
