What Am I? (School Supplies Riddles) 

A short Reading comprehension for Englilsh pupils. They read and answer the questions. They can also read aloud to their classmates and correct the mistakes on the blackboard.

SOME/ANY - ANYTHING/NOTHING

Countable or Uncountable nouns

An excellent way to get to know your students, and for them to get to know one another. Form groups and make them write down their answers. Talk about the answers and write down the most interesting ones on the blackboard. In the end come up with a conclusion, are you students similar or are they different ...

Here is an activity in which students have to match the expressions with the right pictures, they write theletters next to the numbers: repeat, look at the blackboard, write, listen , look, open your book.

Classroom language for beginners

The given board game can help your students practise a modal verb of obligation 'have to'. 

The task is to make affirmative, interrogative or negative sentences. The amount of players depends on you (2-4 players).

I usually make my students explain their answer using the example written on the blackboard.

Objective: Talk about superstitons in your country and all over the world, learn about some strange beliefs and about conditional type 1. 



LESSON PLAN



First introduce the topic by asking students if they know what a superstition is - for example by asking them if they know what happens if they see a black cat (this is the most common one out there). 

Write down the sentence on the blackboard/piece of paper: 

If I see a black cat, I will have bad luck.

Ask them if they know the structure. Explain how to create sentences and when you use it, give several examples. Ask them to create their own examples.

Ask your students to work in pairs and talk about their own experiences with superstitions, encourage them to tell what kinds of supersitions are popular in their homes and countries, and elicit conditional 1.
