Board game to practise time expressions as well as prepositions of time. Students talk in pairs about the topics on the sheet. There are two "Start" squares. Each student places their counter on their "Start" square. Then they move forward by one square at a time and talk about the topic using the appropriate time expressions.

This is a modified version of Past Perfect - Past Perfect Continuous boardgame. ItÂ´s been changed so that it can be used to practice Present Perfect vs. Present Perfect Continuous. The rules are similar - the person who can make the biggest number of sentences about given topics is the winner.

Present Perfect - Present Perfect Continuous - a boardgame

A game that includes famous monuments, common disasters, and world capitals. Students should prepare before playing by studying the FAMOUS LANDMARKS and DISASTER CARDS.





 When the player lands on a square, he/she needs to explain about the landmark or disaster or provide a world capital. If the player cannot, then he/she loses a turn. 





You can move in any way around the board until you reach the finish line. This game was inspired by a student who is a geography nut.

Another boardgame which deals with issues difficult for students - Past Perfect and Past Perfect Continuous. StudentsÂ´ tasks is to make as many sentences as possible using either Past Perfect or Past Perfect Continuous. They get 1 point for each correct sentence. The winner is the person who has the biggest number of points.

This is a typical snakes and ladders boardgame with vocabulary about daily routine, household chores and free time activities.

Students have to make a sentence with the vocabulary on the square they land on. I'm uploading the board in parts because of the size of the file. 

If you want to make the game more challenging you will also find:

- a subject pronoun dice. Students have to make a sentence not only with the vocabulary provided but also with the pronoun they get.

- A dice that tells them whether they have to make an affirmative sentence, negative, yes/no question or information question.

DAILY ROUTINE SNAKES AND LADDERS PART 1

Students play the board game, using a dice and their regular eraser. The aim of the game is for the students to practice asking and answering "wh" questions. It is a pair or small group activity.

This boardgame is aimed at practising grammar skills in distinguishing Past Simple and Present Perfect tenses. It may be useful for revising the forms of the two tenses as well as the time words typical for Past Simple and Present Perfect.

Family and friends

A simple bingo game to learn Halloween related words. Children have to choose pictures and tick for example five of the words. When the teacher says a ticked word, children have to circle the picture. The one whose words have been said by the teacher first ist the winner. 



Tips: Instead of saying just words the teaher can also tell "a story"/sentences related to Halloween including the words of the game. If wanted, you can use the same game board for several rounds; just take a new pen with a different colour for each round. You can also make the children to repeat the word after you during the game, so it becomes a pronunciation exercise at the same time.
