Students fill in the gaps with the verb can - affirmative, negative and interrogative forms.

Can you...?

Print this sheet two times and hang them on separate walls of the classroom. Put your students into two groups and tell them that they should work as a group and match the verbs with the pictures. Tell them that 4 are missing which they must find out!

After, tell your students to work as pairs and ask each other questions with "Can you..." and the verbs written.

This is a very good exercise to bring the students to speak!

A conversation based worksheet on asking and answering questions on what you are able to do. The aim of this worksheet is to put the focus on the students. Have the students discuss the topic in pairs or small groups.

This is a paired speaking grammar and vocabulary activity designed for beginners. It practices the verb \'can\'. The students ask questions and their partners give short answers. It is an engaging fun activity and repetition helps the students consolidate the vocabulary and grammar. This can be used for speaking purposes. Students have to work in pairs and ask each other what they can or can't do. They can use the expressions on the left and tick depending on what they answer. On the right there is also a list in which they can write what their partner can or can't do. :)
