If you use b&w photocopies for your students, I advice you to stick in the classroom the flash cards printed in colour, as your students will need them for some of the activities. Enjoy them!

Description & Ability: Superheroes & Cartoon Characters

This poster can be displayed in your classroom but you can cut it and create flash cards to review some actions. you can give a card to a student, he or she can act it and the rest of the students can guess it. 

SUPERHEROES AND CARTOONS ACTIONS POSTER

This is based around a youtube video. The URL of the video is at the top of the sheet. This is meant to be for a listening and speaking class where the communicative language approach is used. It's around 4 minutes long and is dense with information, so I recommend it for high Intermediate to Advanced class. It can be built around a theme of "Entertainment" and some preparatory work with vocabulary involving animation or the entertainment industry is suggested. It's the history of why Mickey Mouse and other classic Disney characters wear white gloves and it goes into detail about this style of animation. I can upload the answer sheet separately. Feel free to make up your own questions, too!

My students had a lot of fun with this lesson. It took them two classes to finish it. They stared by awnsering some "get to know you questions" about their cartoon, they used adjectives to describe their physycal atributes and personality. They made a drawing of their cartoon, created a story and shared with the class. You might be impressed with what they come up with! 



Design your own cartoon character

This is a song activity that contains part of the lyrics of the Belle's original song. The aim is to fill gaps. It's ok for YLE or (pre)A1/A2 students to practice the spelling of simple key words.
