This is a great game for kids but it takes some explanation and some preparation.



Everything you need for this game is included in this Word document. 



There are reverse sides for all 24 cards.

The check lists for the teams are on page 7.

Who is eating the food? What food are they eating? Where are they eating the food?



There are eight people... (Blue cards)

There are eight foods... (Green cards)

There are eight rooms in the house... (Red cards)



Try to find out who is eating what and where!

(Only the teacher knows the answer)



"Is Jane eating a slice of pizza in the bedroom?"



If the team has any of the three cards in your question they must show you only ONE of the cards.

When you see the card you can cross it off the list because you know that the teacher does not have that card.

When you think you know the three cards that the teacher has you can ask him a question...

The question can be like this...



"Teacher... I think that Susan is eating popcorn in the kitchen."



If you are right you win the game.

If you are wrong you lose and you cannot ask the teacher again.

(BE CAREFUL: You can only ask the teacher ONE TIME!)

CLUE (Cluedo) for KIDS!

In this developed version of ALIBI, students play the roles of suspects in a murder mystery, except in this version, there is an actual murderer. You will distribute these character cards (7) to students, and have the rest play police officers. The characters can spend 10 minutes socializing and interacting with each other, while the police officers prepare questions for the investigation (they'll be briefed about the main plot).

After, you can start the interrogation whichever way you'd like (characters interrogated in isolation, or do it as a speed-dating style, each character interviewed by an officer across the class).
Tips: students should not share the "secrets" in their cards (only if absolutely necessary), they also have the freedom to make up additional details about their characters when convenient.

Murder Mystery (Clue Game)

Students can practise using common idioms.  There are clues next to the questions and the answers at the end. Firstly, teach the idioms. Make up your owns sentences too.

Oral expression between pupils, in English. Revise there is/are and where is...? Where are you...? Is there any...? You choose the question you want them to use.



Pupils are in team with one card, they are in a room, have different objects and must ask the other teams to find the three objects on their card in other rooms. First to have them all wins.
