Comic Strips series was created by my students of JKK class 2018 using "Make Belief Comix" web tool and it consists 9 sets of comic strips. Each set contains some questions based on the comic strips. These worksheets are available in ESL Printables. Uploaded by Sirhajwan Idek.

Download and watch the cartoon (The Powerpuff Girls Season 2 "Schoolhouse rocked"). Print the comic strip version of the scenes featuring Jack Wednesday. Beginner students can answer the comprehension questions. More advanced learners can learn about the grammar from the examples, or identify examples of the listed grammatical forms in the comic strip. In this cartoon, Jack Wednesday, the truant officer speaks mostly in questions: Rhetorical questions, embedded questions, tag questions and reported questions. Ace responds with some African American Vernacular English which Mr. Wednesday clearly considers to be simply "bad English" (There is an interesting discussion of AAVE here https://www.theparisreview.org/blog/2020/01/07/the-limits-of-standard-english/ which disputes Mr. Wednesday's views).

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
