A vocabulary worksheet I've created for my Community Workers presentation. It contains a vocabulary sheet with pictures, matching activity, word search and writing. I suggest to use it as a part of your lesson with my pptx presentation about professions.

Some time ago I found here a very intresting game. 

Students (in close pairs first, then in an open classroom interaction) choose a random topic by pointing their pensil on the empty side of the paper. They turn the paper, check which topic they chose, and talk about it for a minute (their partner sets the timer). 



The difference with the activity which inspired me is that the topics have been selected for adults mostly. Also, topics can also be of interest to students outside of EU, namely Africa, Middle East and Asia. 



I work with people from African countries and these topics triggered their critical thinking.

Communicative Activity. Talk Talk Talk (Adults)

This is connected to my PPT - AI - The Moral Panic. It is a breakout task to help students situate the discourse (Communicams is The Problem) with the general theme of Moral Panics. They are then asked to go and consider how the current Moral Panic in relation to AI is similar to previous moral panics. It is a group discussion, which ends with a task asking students to find examples of AI gone wrong, who this affected the most, and why dominant groups would want to prevent the general public or certain groups having general access to AI?

Part 3 of the BULATS (Business English) test lasts 4 minutes and comprises a role play with the examiner, followed by a brief discussion on a related topic.  The candidate is given a role card with topic and instructions to find out 3 things and to give their opinion on the information they obtain.  At the bottom of the card the related discussion topic is given.  Candidates need to practise asking questions to obtain information and then giving and exchanging opinions. These cards can be printed out for exam practice in the run up to the exam. Please note that the topics are not taken from past exam papers but have been invented by me just for practice to suit the type of (employed) students that I teach.  Please feel free to adapt the material to suit your own requirements. 

BULATS Speaking Test Part 3 - communicative activity

This is an activity that practises buildings in a community. It consists of 12 cards; each card has a sentence on one side and half a picture on the other.



Page (5-6): a cover and a box that are flat and could be easily folded and assembled. For better results, it would be good if you printed the cards and laminated them after they have been folded. For the box and its cover, using think papers could give better results. You may print the box parts on normal A4 papers and glue them afterwards on a card-stock (those used in art-craft and making gift cards) to have a stronger box.



The last page contains detailed instructions on how to introduce the activity and assemble the different parts included.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets
