In the first exercise you can find some missing words/prepositions and some underlined words (this means that there is something wrong with them: spelling, grammar, etc.) that you should correct. In the second exercise, you should find the errors and correct them.

CORRECTING MISTAKES

You can use this any time after you have taught your students the past simple tense. You can use it at the beginning of nest lesson to review to past simple or as a filler. You can cut the worksheet into four parts to use it for four students. Students tick the correct sentences and change the incorrect ones. After that you can have them translate the sentences into their first language. And after that you can collect the original slips of paper and make them translate the sentences back to English.

Students correct conjunctions in compound sentences (or, and, so, but) 



Afterwards they use these conjunctions to turn simple sentences into complex using a short paragraph. 

Correcting Conjunctions

The students read the sentences and then correct the mistakes. There is at least one mistake in each worksheet, in some sentences there are more than one mistake. Two worksheets per piece of A4 paper to save printing and paper costs but can be cut and paste onto one sheet. Answers given.

Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
