In this activity you can both speak and practice tricky verbs such as lie, lay, fall, fell, hang, rise, raise itp. They are difficult because they look similar, but their meaning is different. 

Difficult verbs

I made this specifically with my Japanese students in mind, but it can easily enough be adapted or changed.  This lists a few sounds that my students have difficulty with and talks about how to correctly say the sounds.

Difficult Pronunciation

In pairs, each person gets a paper. Spell the word for the other student, then change roles. Check whether your neighbour spelled the word correctly. Then correct in group.

A demonym is the noun or adjective you use to describe a person from a particular place (e.g., America's demonym is American).



These can be difficult for native speakers, let alone ESL learners, so I made this worksheet to test my students' knowledge on some of the more commonly heard demonyms. There is an answer key included.

Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
