These information gap activities are designed for  EFL/ESL students to practice communicating information. This information gap is designed to help learners practice with vocabulary related to rooms in the school and directions. There are two worksheets. 

There is a school map on each worksheet. the map in sheet A is different to the map on sheet B. students ask each other questions to find out information about the school places location.

This is a listening activity about a response to a classified ad perfect for introducing vocab and speaking practice for renting an apartment. The audio is clear and slow but a bit long and so I broke it into 3 parts for activities for low level students. the first is fill in the blanks,  inthe second I cut out the lines for the Ss to order. the third activity is to follow the directions on the map which I cannot include yet as I don't have a scanner..it is easy to draw for yourself anyway.

Phone Call about Apartment

I cut the first map into pieces and gave 1 piece to each student. they go up to the board and arrange it. Then have them complete the treasure map. [best if you give a small prize too]

Pirate map

This is a mapping activity that reviews neighborhood buildings, cardinal directs and prepositions of place. Students read the numbered directions for each building, find it on the map and write the correct number on each building. The blank lines next to the numbered items on the directions page are for students to check off each item as they complete it.
