Pairwork - fashion - how much is it?

Because my students (French, 14 years old...) still think the British currency is the Dollar, or the Queen lives in the White House... So this is a quiz with pictures, showing symbols of the UK and the USA, and a chart to fill in with them to improve their general knowledge.

Role Play. The InveNtors have to pick one of six inventions (everyone a different one) and compete to get the biggest sum of money from a panel of inveStors. The InveStors award different sums of money to inveNtors reflecting how much they trust each invention to become a success. The winning candidate gets 1 million dollars, no.2 gets $500.000, no.3 $200.000, and so on. To help Ss prepare, the worksheet contains real life questions that venture capitalists typically ask.

This game will work well if you have some play money - around 300 euros / pounds / dollars per student is ideal, plus some more for prize money.



Students have 15 sentences and they must bet on whether the sentences are correct or incorrect. If they are right they double their bet, if not they lose it. The winner is the one with the most money. 

Conditionals Betting Game - C1

Quick and fun matching activity to make the topic "occupations" more diverse and interesting. It can be a good warm-up activity for promoting students' interest or just a filling activity to make students have a little bit of fun when they are tired and unconcentrated.
