This is a topical debate in the aftermath of the dreadful killing of George Floyd. A statue has been pulled down and many more face the same fate. The statue of Winston Churchill has now been boarded up to protect it. So - they look at the arguments and say where they stand. Not only must they conjugate the verb correctly, but they identify the 2 events in the sentence and which happened first and which happened second.
