This is the fourth worksheet in the series of verb tense drills. This one includes all of the simple tenses, all of the continuous tenses, and future perfect continuous. Example of one sentence in all of the tenses. Student exercises may be written or spoken.

Verb Tense Drills 3

This worksheet is intended for practice with basic verb tenses: past simple, present simple, future simple, present continuous, and past continuous; as well as the affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms of each. Verb Tense Drills 1

This is a set of cards for drilling to be interrogative and negative. Ss work in pairs or threes. Pile the cards face down, each takes turns and transform the sentences according to the little signs on the cards. You can use it for revision or as a filler. I usually print these cards on coloured cardboard. Enjoy!

There are three classroom activities. They focus on speaking and pattern drilling. There is also a teacher's note that contains the suggested procedures for each activity.

Simple Past - Speaking/ Drilling Activities

Students read the explanation and examples at the top of the page. You may want to review the past or irregular verbs before starting this activity. They follow the model orally, point to students ramdonly and they read the sentence and use the verb in the past. After the oral activity,  they fill in the blanks.

Drills - Past Simple Irregular Verbs

This ESL worksheet should help learners understand how to form each conditional type. They start off with the completion of each type one by one, the last exercise sums up what the learner has already practised as it contains all the three conditional types mixed and they have to find out which one it is and then complete it with the correct verb form. The key is included to check the right answers.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
