Here is a new updated version of my new year's resolutions in which students have to use the verbs with be going to positive or negative and match themwith the pictures , or you can change and use WILL or WON'T. I wish you all the best fo the coming year!

Our new year 's resolutions

I have created this worksheet for my ESOL beginners who will be learning how to make appointments independently without the help of an interpreter. It can be used as a reading activity and then a speaking practice.

This worksheet sheds light on a few feelings and emotions words my ESOL learners have been learning. I will be using this worksheet as a recap of the previous lesson when the learners will be given the chance to apply what they have understood.

Jack's New Year's resolutions

This is a multiple choice quiz for the students to complete, before making their resolutions for 2017. They add up their scores and see how they have done, then on to their target setting.  Some useful language is provided to help them write their resolutions. You could get them to write up a sentence for each of the 17 questions based on their answers e.g. 'I always did my homework'.

The One With All The Resolutions

Students are introduced to common resolution collocations and how to talk about things they want to do/would like to do. Rules and examples show usage and gap fill activities allow students to practice the language.

Making Resolutions

This worksheet is about the New Year's resolutions. Pupils have to work in pairs and ask each other about their resolutions. They must use WILL and WON'T/ WILL NOT.

I made this worksheet for ESOL learners. It's for entry 2 learners and worked well. I adapted for an extension exercise at the end of the lesson where students chose another topic to write about e.g. Adv and Disadv of being single or having a partner.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
