This is an easy version of the Christmas  past simple worksheet. Students can listen to the video and fill in the gaps with the past simples from the box.

It also works as a stand-alone of course  without the video.

This tests reading comprehension. To make it a speaking exercise, you can then get the students to say what they did in the holidays. They can agree/ disagree or expand on each statement. 



Christmas/ holidays  past simple (easy version)

This is a great compliment to a Halloween Lesson.

1). Cut the story in pieces.  Have the student read each paragraph and put the story in order.  Clarify any unknown vocabulary.

2).Have the student fill in the gap fill with the past simple tense. 

3).Read the story together then discuss. Do you know any urban legends?  What's the scariest story you've ever heard?

*For advanced students this can be used as a dictation

This worksheet is for students to improve their listening skills.

It's a listening exercise where students have to listen to the song, November Rain by Guns'n'Roses and do the related activities. 

There are three different exercises: one gap filling, one put the sentence in the correct order and one finish the sentences. 

You can find the key on page 3 - after the activities.

Best to use it in November, especially when the weather is gloomy.
