vocabulary for the theatre, acting, and film.

Students can work alone or in groups to match the word with the correct definition.  I also like to put the words on sticky notes around the room (and cover the word bank) so students have to go find the correct word.

Types of films

A "scary" song from the brilliant film "Nightmare before Christmas". Really good to practise vocabulary related to Halloween. My students really liked it!

A ws with questions on film and film watching. On the ws is a list of relevant vocabulary. Either let the students study the vocabulary list before doing the speaking exercise or have them fold the ws before speaking to see how much they know beforehand.

Students need to match the photos to the types of TV programmes.

TV programmes

MOVIE GENRES CARDS (12 CARDS). (Action, romantic, thriller, etc.) The task is: "Look at this cinema-goer, and guess what genre of film they are watching." This is an alternative take on the common task where students have to figure out what film belongs to what genre. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
