A speaking activity about films for beginners and elementary students

Speaking about Films

This worksheet consists of two simple exercises: in the first exercise the students have to label movie posters with the type of film they represent and in the second exercise they have to say which is their favourite type of film and which is their favourite film.

As a follow-up, students may write a summary or a review of a film they have seen.

Types of Films

Choose your favourite film or a film that you like and complete the form with the requested information (title; director; genre; duration; release date; star rating; main characters; plot; setting; opinion).

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
