I designed this ESL mingling activity to celebrate Cultural Diversity Week. Students roam around the classroom asking questions, exchanging responses and collecting signatures. We all learnt a lot about the many nationalities which make up our class and had a great time in the process. Definitely a class favourite!

Find someone who

Students are given one word, they search for the synonyms

Find the jobs vocabulary hidden in the puzzle.

Find Five Jobs!

A well-known ice-breaker. Students have to mingle to get responses to the questions. If they can, they should form the question, eg 'Find someone who likes the colour blue: Do you like the colour blue?'

If they can't, you can give them the questions on the page.

Also, if they can they should ask a follow-up question like, 'What kind of blue do you like?' or 'What do you have that's blue?' and write the responses.

They should change partners after every question, so they all mingle. Afterwards they can read some responses to the class, which involves converting the question back to a statement.

Start of the year getting to know each other game. Fun activity for ESL learners to do at the start of the school year. Usually use it with new classes so they get to know each other and learn names.

I call this game Find the words, but also  The music game, it´s played with music while students try to find the words and not to listen what other sts, say while they are thinking.First i explain the task,it´s with any letter from the alphabet that they must find a word,ex

I tell them music will be played while they work, when music stop i say change and they must change seats NOT PAPERS, and try to fill in their partners paper. I repeat this several times and I also change the song .
It´s funny , play it!!!!Of course you can modify it for any level.Hope u like it!!!!

it is a word game (hidden words) about common verbs in English for elementary school learners.

Learners must find at least 8 hidden verbs horizentally and vertically.

They can also make sentences based on those verbs.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
