An easy reading exercise entirely in the present simple tense with A1 vocabulary, where they ideally try to guess the meanings of the garden related vocabulary used to do as further  directed. They find hidden hidden vegetables and answer a few questions. Hope it is of use to you. Thank you! :)

Vocabulary challenge - What can you find in your home

It is often difficult for students to realize which form of a verb should be used.  Visualizing verb types (simple, continuous/perfect on a time-line can make understanding which verb to use a little easier.  I use a time-line made of wood (similar to the design) in my lessons.  It seems to make the explanation easier to understand. 

USING A TIME-LINE TO FIND  THE CORRECT VERB FORM

The last worksheets to work on vocabulary  to learn or revise words related to places in the city, church, street shops. Here students have to find the name of the place corresponding to the definition, then match the sentences to the pictures.

This is a fun seek and find game that my students absolutely love. They read the sentences from the paper, and have to find what it's describing.


Instructions 

1.	Print out the pictures (it is one picture, divided into 4 pieces, in order to print it out large).

2.	Cut out and tape the pictures together to create the full image.

3.	Print out the sheet for each student (or pair of students).

4.	Have the students say the sentence, then find what it’s describing.

** It’s also an option to have one student make their own sentence based on the picture (instead of using the sheet), and have the other student try to find what they’re describing.

Present Progressive (Continuous) - Seek and Find (I Spy) Activity Game

A fun little wordsearch (no solutions provided sorry... to make it easier the past of hang I used is hung).



Basically, students have to look at the words and find the past versions in the word search. Some of the verbs are irregular so this helps them remember and practice their past tense. 



I use this with elementary age students who have been studying English for a while. It gives them a bit of a fun challenge that is different and can be done in groups.
