Free Time  Activities: Card flip game 



Here is a fun  game to help students

practice vocabulary related to hobbies and free time activities.



Divide the students into groups of four.

Give each group a set of cards. The students must lay the cards facedown, flip, name the activity, and locate and memorize the location. Each player gets a turn. The player with the most paired activity cards wins. 



The game can be played till most of the students master the game.

This WS was designed to revise the use of the Present Simple and the Present  Continuous at the

Intermediate level.  State and action verbs were introduced. The grammar notes (page 4)

were projected on the board  on a flip chart so that students could have a look at them  in case

 they had doubts. Part 1 can lead to a speaking/writing activity.  Parts  2 can be assigned as homework. Our textbook lesson had the same  topic , so it was useful to expand on it. Editable. With key.

Fold the worksheet 3 times along the vertical lines.

Then you can flip over and cover either the word or the picture.

The flipside will cover then words that the student has to remember.

Students move forward by throwing a dice or flipping a coin.

They use the prompts in the squares to talk about themselves revising verb patterns such as look forward to+ ing/ can't stand+ ing/ make sy do sth/ succeed in+ ing/ forget+ to/ remember + ing/ would hate+ to etc

I always ask them to come up with extra questions about each topic.
