Think Tales: Tiddalick the Frog is a worksheet that can be used to help students to examine and investigate the context and meaning of an Australian indigenous story "Tiddalick the Frog" through six aspects: character, setting, problem, solution, message and question. This also aims to encourage students to share their own stories. This material was designed by Sirhajwan Idek and it is also available in ESL Printables.

Word search is based on a story created by and used by my school. However, word searches are great in that they don't have to be words a student knows since it is more about recognizing the patterns and order of letters. 



The students who do these are usually able to have basic conversation entirely in English. They are also around 9-10 years old. 



I use this as filler to give students something a bit more 'fun' and still useful as it helps them recognize words.

It is a task that slowly increases in difficulty: fill in the words, complete the sentence, combine two sentences, early finisher writing task. The lesson can start with the pictures themselves so that the pupils can describe them and use conditional 1: if i find/see the xmas frog. . .

Conditional 3 - the christmas frog

This worksheet is developed from a Japanese Folktale. The objective of the worksheet is to accurately fill in the blanks to complete the folktale. This will provide language practice in grammar and reading comprehension. It can be completed by an individual or in pairs.

The Two Frogs -Language Practice

Use the characters Frog and Toad from the classic children's books to practice the present continuous affirmative tense. Talk about what they are doing. Use the book- if possible- as an aid. Then complete the worksheet- focusing on the correct usage for each person.

A short fable type tale in the present simple tense. They read the story and complete the exercises. The story is a type of joke. Good practice for the present simple tense.
