This is a gap fill worksheet about Advent in the UK.

Students have to fill in the verbs which describe Advent actions. They use both the future simple and progressive/ continuous  tenses. The aim of the worksheet is to inform about Advent as well as practice the future tenses. Follow the link to watch the video, if you wish.

Great activities for students who like to draw!

This is really two worksheets, but I used them in the same class. The first worksheet gives a picture and asks the students to guess what the thing will become in the future. The example is a tomato becomes ketchup.

The students write a sentence or two about their predictions, then draw a picture.



On the second worksheet,  the students write and draw about their own future jobs, homes, and families.



The worksheet currently uses "will" but it could easily be changed to use "going to"

New vocabulary for students include the words "become" and "creative".

This is created to practise three groups of tenses. Present Simple is for something which is regular. Present Continuous is for the current or 'now'  situation, Past Simple is left in the past (stated time), Future Simple is tomorrow.
