A gapfill exercise on verbs and prepositions. Personally, I do not consider studying this kind of grammar very useful, in my opinion it is far better to get a hunch for the right preposition by reading and listening to authentic texts in English. However, an exercise like this may be a good way to test how well you already know the English language. It may also be useful when you are getting ready for tests like FCE, CAE, etc.

Easy Crosswords 10

This crossword contains vocabulary related to Halloween.  There are three versions of the crossword. One version has clues for both across and down.  The second version -“A” has the across clues only while the third version – “B” has the down clues only.  Versions A and B should be used as a pair activity to provide the students with listening, speaking and reading practice. Students take turns reading the clues on their worksheets.Caution students not to look at each other’s worksheet until after all clues have been read and written down.  After each student has read his/her clues to his/her partner they can then work together to solve the crossword. The answer key is included.

Persuasive writing

This worksheet accompanies the M&M's getting-to-know-you game, which is a good back-to-school activity. Students sit in groups, and each group has a cup of M&M's. In the group, one student closes their eyes and picks an M&M. The student opens their eyes and reads out the question corresponding to the color of the M&M, then answers the question aloud to the group. The students can go in a circle until all the M&M's are gone. Your students will love the reward of eating M&M's after they finish answering a question! The second page of the worksheet gives space for written answers.

The worksheet is based on the video that explores the origins of Easter traditions and introduces major US Easter symbols. The tasks help to develop students’ listening skills and vocabulary. The assignment contains listening for gist, listening for details, and comprehension questions.
