I created this worksheet for my ESOL learners who will be learning information about Great Britain. General information to help them know more about the country they are currently living in. I hope some of you find it useful as there is a lack of worksheets on this topic.

The following worksheet contains general information about Great Britain. It's a fill-in exercise. Teachers may use it during lessons about English speaking countries in 5th or 6th grade as an introduction.

It\'s a reading comprehension test for students in Year 9. The test includes four texts about great inventors and four tasks to each text (1-match the headings and the paragraphs, 2, 3-complete with the phrases and the sentences, 4-True/False).

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
