Present Simple Positive - Group work activity

Students plan a 5-day trip from Prague to one of five English-speaking countries: the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand. In groups, they have 15 minutes to prepare their travel plan using English only. Each group must include a flight from Prague, accommodation, one nature activity, one historical or cultural site, a food experience, and a basic budget choice (cheap/medium/luxury). Students also create a short packing list based on the weather and activities in their chosen destination. After planning, groups give a 2-3 minute presentation explaining where they are going, why they chose it, how they will travel, where they will stay, what they will do, what they will eat, how much it will cost, and what they will pack. The activity includes functional language support for suggesting, agreeing, and disagreeing to help students communicate in English while working. This task encourages collaboration, speaking fluency, travel vocabulary, and creative thinking, while preventing “lazy” travel plans by requiring nature, culture, and realistic details. Perfect for A2-B1 learners and high-school classes who enjoy real-life, task-based speaking activities.

A Trip from Prague: Group work

This series of three grammar worksheets is aimed for group work (the first worksheet being the most complex and the third one, the easiest).



It is related to the projectable presentation called "Be able to be allowed to", which you can also find on this website, in the "Projectables" part.  



On the first lesson, I do a traditional grammar presentation, then students work in groups, and on the second lesson, I give them one photocopy per group of my handwritten answers - photocopies that I collect back at the end of the marking time; so they must mark their work themselves.



Assessment can be planned based on the third worksheet.
