COMPUTERS AND THE INTERNET

This worksheet is for introducing vocabulary. Give your students s a chance to guess the meaning of the words by matching the pictures with the words. In task two you can concept check their understanding by doing in together.

This is a timed conversation activity: There are two columns on the paper; one for sentences and one for conversation topics. Cut each section into strips and place both sections into separate envelopes entitled "sentences" and "topics." Students are divided into pairs and then one student takes a strip of paper from the "sentences" envelope while the other takes one from the "topics" envelope. The student with the topics paper then announces the topic they are going to talk about for the next three minutes. The student with the "sentences" strip of paper keeps their sentence secret but must introduce the sentence as naturally as possible into the conversation during the next three minutes. The rest of the students must try and guess which sentence the student had to introduce into the conversation. A good student will make the sentence appear to be a natural part of the conversation and therefore difficult for the others to detect. They don´t have to have the sentence perfect, word for word.

Use this worksheet during vocabulary practice. The first task includes guessing some of the cookung methods. The second task is about matching words to pictures.

It's a fill in the gaps activity. Students are supposed to guess the the words according to the definition and then, listen to the song to fill in the gaps. I suggest showing the videoclip without the worksheet first,to set the atmosphere. After, depending on the level of the group , the teacher can distribute some dictionaries to help them.

Diseases

This is a typical game of taboo: students must get the other members in their group to guess the top word but they may not say the bottom words.  Might be a good idea to pre-teach the words! :)

health and body taboo

A classic game that we all know and love.

Students simply have to describe the word on the card without saying any of the words at the bottom of the card. This can be done in different ways:

Team game. Students describe to their team or partner and get one point for each correct guess their partner makes within a set time limit.

Individual game. Students work in groups but take it in turns to describe. Whoever is first to guess correctly, gets one point. The winner is the student with the most points when all cards have been used.
