A guessing game to check if you know the types of sport. The sentences describe the sport and your students need to think what sports they are talking about. When it's done, a game can be played in 2 groups or in pairs. e.g. Student A reads the definition  and Student B gives the name of the competition. They can even spell the name.

While I was reading superstitions,I noticed there are a bunch of them that sound anachronistic today, e.g. "Never carry a hoe into the house," or "ItÂs bad luck to let a fire go out on New YearÂ´s Eve." Why not modernize them a bit? Page 1. includes the nice, original fonts, embedded in the image, upon which I superposed the five sentences and the discussion questions in text boxes in case youÂ´d want to edit them. On Page 2 all of the text is editable, including the title and the introduction. Page three features a vocabulary list. You could start the class with giving just the key words of the superstitions, and letting Ss guess, e.g. "You carry a hoe into the house," "What will happen?" Enjoy! PS. If you have time, let me know if this activity worked in your class, since I just created it, and havenÂ´t tried it yet.) I am open to some suggestions on how to improve it. Bless up, Kisdobos :)

Modernizing old superstitions (Conditional 1.)

Just some common idioms about parts of the face. Your pupils/students can for instance discuss in groups what all the idioms mean. Several groups can get one part of the face each to discuss, and then present their \"findings\" for the rest of the class. Alternatively, they can go on the Internet to find out more, or they can even make small roleplays and make people guess.

This game is a murder mystery game. Students need to ask questions in order to guess who committed the crime, who was the victim, with what they were killed and where.

In this fun seasonal listening comprehension quiz, students guess the answers to some Christmas traditions around the World, then whatch a Youtube video to find out if their guesses were correct. The listening skills can be adapted to the level of the students (lower-level students are asked to listen for key words, while higher level students can listen for general meaning). This is a great activity to raise awareness about cross-cultural differences and similarities and can be used to start a conversation/debate on the topic.

There are three different activities in this worksheet. In the first one children have to match the name of ten farm animals to real photographs (they're not cartoons). In the second exercise, they will be asked to unscrumble the name of the same animals. In the last exercise, there are ten descriptions of the animals and children have to guess what animal it is.



Children will learn vocabulary such as wings, tail, beak, horns, and the name of some raw materials: milk, wool, meat, eggs.
