Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>

The pictures are the clues. The solution and word list are on page 2. Prepare the students before completing the wordsearch by presenting and discussing the relevant vocabulary. The word box could be written on the blackboard.

True or False: Students read statements about the story and decide if each one is true or false.

Answer the Questions: Students answer questions based on key details from the story.

Underline the Sentences: Students find and underline 5 sentences in the past simple

Draw the Scene: Students draw Vainilla, Shadow, the ghost, and the other animals dancing at the Halloween party.

Word Search: Students search for Halloween-related words from the story in a fun word search activity.

There are two exercises. In N. 1 the students have to find 25 words related to Halloween. These words are given in my printable Halloween Pictionary. In exercise N. 2 the students complete the sentences with prepositions of place according to the pictures.

This worksheet is designed to provide learners with a brief history of the festival Halloween and a ghost story. The Haunted House is a spooky Halloween story for 11 years and up. There are questions for pair conversation and comprehension. Students can continue the story or act it out.
